Toilet Accessories

Got this 2 storage boxes at Ikea. Sebasten suggested to change the Master toilet one to stainless steel one which costs $10 more so that it will not be the toilet focus point. Although he does make sense, we did not change it because firstly, it is out of stock and it is prone to scratches (Ikea stuff so worry not really stainless steel).

The left is the Master Toilet and right is Common Toilet.

Spent the whole Saturday morning choosing the curtains. It burst our curtain budget but we are happy with the service, choices and material. Initially we chose Roman Blinds for the 2 bedrooms and didn't know that Roman Blinds are so expensive... The price difference between normal curtain and Roman Blinds is $200! So budget constraint we had curtains for the whole house. :P

After the light exchange, tap installation, we headed down to Ikea. We spent hours there thinking what to buy to hit the $300 spending to be Friends of Ikea! Of course, we had in mind to get the book shelf that is on offer and the step storage. Choosing the color of the book shelf wasn't easy as it had to match the oak step storage... In the end, we chose birch book shelf which is the closest to match the oak step storage. As we are still behind the $300 mark, we decide to get some small items to make it up. We got a pair of shelf, a storage box, a plant pot, hand towel, soap holder and a chair and the final figure is $301.35. We are Friends of Ikea. :P

Delivery of the book shelf and step storage wasn't as straight forward... Ikea will deliver it within 3 days and the earliest is Monday and for Queenstown is between 10am to 2pm. WTF! Now I am wondering whether Sebasten can help if not will need to take leave... :(

Sink tap

Our cold water tap, detergent dispenser and spray had been installed.

Bellari gave us a free dish tray that can fit into our single bowl sink.

Can anyone see the defect on the granite top?? ;)

Granite Worktop

Our Granite Worktop is done.

Although there is some minor defect, I am ok with it. The cut out at the sink is not straight. The left is out by 2mm when you are standing in front of it. Anyway, I worried the repair will damage my sink and accept the small defect.

View at the sliding door. Our Bellari Tornado hob is fitted too. Now wait for the CityGas to link up the hob and done!! Can use for cooking. ;)

Worktop at pantry area.

Dining and Master Bedroom Lights

Our Dining Lights revealed...

View from the Living room with the effect on the ceiling and surroundings. I wondering how it will be like with the tinted mirror up.

Our Master Bedroom Light...

The light had been repaired due to the defect. The manufacturer used the brown glue to glue the white fabric to the metal rim. The glue somehow got through and stained the white fabric. Amy from Chelsea went to the factory and found all the lights have the similar defect... I must said she is professional and went to the factory to find it out and told me that. She also personally took out the white fabric, cleaned it and glue it using the white glue. She also cover it with a layer of lace to make it better. Thumbs up for her!!

Not lighted on the left and all 4 bulbs lighted on the right.

Daylight on the left and warm white on the right.

Carpentry Overview

An overview of the carpentry....

The first step into the house, you are greeting by the feature wall and TV console.

On a left turn, the shoe cabinet and the kitchen cabinets...

Walking straight towards the windows and make a 180 degree turn, the shoe cabinet, feature wall and TV console.

Making a right turn and walk down the passageway and into the master bedroom, the wardrobe.

That's all folks!!! :D

Bidet set fixed at the toilet

The bidet sets are fixed up. This is the one in the master bedroom toilet. We didn't take the one in the common toilet.

Aircon Compressor Updated

Hee here is the missing aircon compressor from LG. It is done by Creation Air. Nice friendly chaps. Luckily the compressor is located away from the window if not, it will be noisy at night. We tested it and can really hear the howling sound in the toilet.

Shoe Cabinet

The Shoe Cabinet is in front of the kitchen door and next to the main door. Yes it is white in colour so that the living room will look bright. The top, bottom and side will be covered with mirror.

Kitchen Cabinets

The kitchen cabinets are up. Currently waiting for the granite worktop. Sebasten said that the worktop can only be measured after the cabinets are done. After the worktop is installed, the measurement of the glass splashback can then be done and install.

Our Bellari Hob is still in the box waiting for the worktop. The Bellari Hood and sink had been installed. Sebasten wondered why there is 3 holes on the sink and I told him the left is for the spray, center is for the tap and right is the detergent dispenser. He said that he didn't know that we bought the extra spray as he think it is not useful as our sink is small and water may drip below. Anyway I didn't explain that I need the spray to clean both the sink and washing machine. :P

The cabinet at the food preparation area aka pantry area.

The 2 tier dish rack is installed above the sink. It is not a big one due to the size of our sink but I guess it is enough of us. It is not like I am going to have 10 children ha ha ha.

The cultery tray is still in plastic bag. Not wanting to dirty it. :P
The drop door on the right is under the Hob. It is used to store all our pots and pans.

Dining Feature Wall

The feature wall in the dining area is almost done. Currently just waiting for the tinted mirror to be glued on and it is finished.

Bathroom Light

We got the Ikea bathroom lights for our toilets. One of the bulb blew when the electrician installed it. I had to brave the rain on Wednesday to get the extra bulbs from Ikea to replace. The G9 bulb cost a freaking $8.... While shopping, I got a door mat for $1.50, a orange chair for $4.95 and a 4 sockets 3m power extension.

Feature Wall and TV Console

The feature wall is using LamiTAK Picasso. The TV console is using LamiTAK black leather with Picasso as the border. It gives a hollow and depth feeling when looking at it. The initial design was to make it normal which means the feature wall cover the whole wall and the TV console is at the centre of it. Sebasten not wanting to cover the original wall socket proposed this design. I wanted some thing different from the norm and took up his idea. I like the design. :)

The TV console consists of a drawer and a drop down door. Sebasten warn us that the door need to be opened or else the remote control will not work. He said if we are lazy, he can change to glass door but yucks no thanks. I will stick to this, hardworking a bit, can exercise also. :P

Master Bedrooom Wardrobe

The wardrobe in the master bedroom had been done up. It matches well with the laminate flooring.

The right shows the inner compartments of the wardrobe. The small top space is not with some secret compartment, there is a beam there so the space become small.

The 3 drawers at the left of the wardrobe. I like the pigeon holes and the glass drawer front.

Water Storage

We got the storage heater thru our ID. I am lazy to go look around for it. The few dollars difference is just too much of a trouble. :P

It is Joven 35litres. I haven't got the chance to test it out yet.

We also went to Ikea and bought 2 toilet wall mount cabinets and a shower curtain bar. We didn't buy the curtain from Ikea because it is simply too expensive. Saw the cheap cheap kind at NTUC and decide to purchase that instead. Anyway no one will be using it now lor. :P

Aircon Installation

The aircon was installed on 12 Nov by Creation Air. The installers are friendly. We tested the aircon for 1 hour and no leakage. I will tested again after everything is done up. Also we had wrapped the aircon up so that the workers can use them. :P

Bedroom 3 fan coil.

Bedroom 2 fan coil.

Master Bedroom fan coil.

Forgot to take the outdoor unit. Will update it later. :P

1st Coat of Paint

The 1st coat of paint is done for the whole house. As usual, ceiling is painted with white.

The master bedroom has 2 colour. The darker color is Lavender Mist and the other is Kashmir.

Bedroom 3 is using Morning Dew with Cool Lime. I like the Cool Lime!! Bedroom 2 is using a single color as the living room which is Morning Dew.

Lastly, the dining area is covered with Bisque.

Shower Screen and Kitchen Sliding Door

Kitchen Sliding Door is up. Initial idea is to have a casement door but due to the size of the dining table, we had to change to a sliding door instead. The ideal size of the dining table is to be 1.4m in length but we bought a 1.6m one, therefore if we have the casement type then we will hit the dining table.

View of the sliding door from the kitchen and living room.

The track of the sliding door. Thinking ways to beautify it....

The master bedroom shower screen is up too.
